2008 OGS Annual Conference "Navigating the Past: Charting a Course for Your Family Tree" 17-19 April 2008, Sheraton Hotel/Conference Center, Cincinnati Schedule of Events: Registration Information and Form Welcome Dear Fellow Genealogists, On behalf of the Officers and the Board of Trustees of the Ohio Genealogical Society, I invite you to attend the 2008 Annual Conference, Navigating the Past: Charting a Course for Your Family Tree, at the Sheraton Cincinnati North Hotel. This year’s program includes a broad range of presentations for all skill levels. We have scheduled 50 programs with many nationally known speakers. The program committee has included many new topics and some new speakers that are sure to interest you. The 2008 OGS Conference will offer you the opportunity to network with hundreds of other genealogists and historians. We will also have many genealogical exhibitors on hand, along with OGS and many of its local chapters, featuring the latest in genealogical merchandise and Ohio county information to heighten your conference experience. Two sessions will be offered on Thursday evening for the early birds, and the Exhibit Hall will open at 7 pm. Another reason to come early is the option to visit the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County on Thursday evening. Bus transportation will be offered between 6 and 11:30 pm, for an additional fee. Read on for details about this and other local research opportunities. I hope you have considered applying for membership in one or more of our three lineage societies: First Families of Ohio, Society of Civil War Families of Ohio, and Settlers and Builders of Ohio. All three societies will conduct induction ceremonies at the conference. Contact OGS for application forms, due by December 31, 2007. New this year is an Ancestors Road Show, sponsored by the Great Lakes Chapter of the Association of Professional Genealogists, offering free private consultations for your research problems. We expect this to be another great OGS conference. We hope you will be able to join us in a wonderful learning experience and have an opportunity to celebrate your ancestors’ contributions to Ohio and American history. Sincerely, Conference Contacts: |
