Ohio Genealogical Society's 2009 50th Anniversary Conference "Digging for Gold: Finding our Family Nuggets" Call for Papers The Ohio Genealogical Society is accepting proposals for their Golden Anniversary conference, 2-5 April 2009 at the Sawmill Creek Resort in Huron. Deadline for submissions is 15 June 2008. Lectures will be one hour long, including a ten minute question and answer period. Submissions for workshops, especially for Thursday evening, will be considered. This is a very special conference, as OGS is celebrating its Golden Anniversary in 2009. Proposals are being sought in a variety of areas including beginning genealogy, Ohio-specific topics, states associated with Ohio (through migration into or out of the state), methodology, technology, 20th century research, ethnic topics, writing/publishing, immigration, preservation, etc. In addition, we are seeking proposals on World War II military resources, business/industrial records, fraternal and service organizations, and proof standards. Previous speakers are encouraged to submit new or new to the Ohio conference proposals. Proposals should include the following information:
Speakers who have not lectured at a state, regional, or national conference are encouraged to submit an audio or video tape of a recent lecture. Speakers will receive an honorarium, travel expenses, hotel, per diem, and complimentary conference registration. Interested individuals may submit any number of proposals.
