Now you may search all free OCWGC databases at once! These include:

• OCWGJ surname index
• OCWGJ subject index
• Names of Union Soldiers with Civil War Service in Ohio Units (formerly Ohio Civil War Roster)
• Society of Civil War Families of Ohio Roster

There are three ways to search for names: Fuzzy, Exact and Soundex.

• Fuzzy will search for a string of characters. A Fuzzy search for William would find William, William R., William Jr., etc.
• Exact will search for only that exact word. An Exact search for William would find only William.
• Soundex will search for the Soundex equivalent of the word. A Soundex search for William would find William, Willem, Wilma, etc.
