Ohio Genealogical Society's 2009 Fall Seminar

 

The OGS Fall Seminar will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2009, with the topic "Using Military Records to Trace Family History". Three speakers will present lectures at the James W. Kehoe Center for Advanced Learning, North Central State College, SR 39, in Shelby, beginning at 9:30 AM. Eric Johnson will inform us about our War of 1812 research. Lois Lambert, author of two regimental histories, will tell attendees how to research Civil War ancestors. The Spanish-American War through World War II will be the time period covered by Marge Waterfield in two sessions. Attendees will be encouraged to attend a post-conference reception with research time at the OGS Library, Mansfield, from 4:00-8:00 PM.

1:30pm Genealogical Introduction to Civil War Records - Lois Lambert
2:45pm How Do Spanish-American War Records Compare to Civil War, WWI and WWII Records - Marjorie Waterfield
4:00pm-8:00pm Post-Seminar Open House Reception at OGS Library in Mansfield
