OGS Names New Editors Mansfield, Ohio (29 January 2007)--The Ohio Genealogical Society is happy to welcome two new editors to Ohio Records & Pioneer Families with the 2007 subscription year. Editor Dana Kragick is stepping down due to the arrival of her second child this spring. Both new editors come to OGS with years of writing, editing and printing experience. Rick Heflin of New Richmond has just received his MA in History from The University of Cincinnati. For 22 years he ran his own printing company, in which he created hundreds of newsletters, catalogs, and other publications. He is very experienced in the use many desktop publishing programs. He is an avid genealogist, with family ties in several Ohio counties including Highland, Muskingum, Miami, and Washington and has a personal genealogical database of over 37,000 people. He lives in Clermont County, just 25 minutes from downtown Cincinnati, home of one of the finest genealogical libraries in the state. Gail Hite has lived in and around Lorain County for all of her life. She became interested in genealogy over 20 years ago when she and her grandfather visited a remote cemetery to visit the grave of his grandfather in LaPorte, Carlisle, Lorain County. Throughout the years she has not only learned of her ancestry in great detail, but has helped others as far away as England learn about their American roots. Having been especially interested in British genealogy and visiting the repositories in England, she had been a speaker on British Research at genealogical workshops. Just recently, she discovered she descends from John and Priscilla Mullins Alden and is currently documenting her findings. Gail has had articles printed in various publications and works in an advertising department. The Ohio Genealogical Society is the largest state genealogical society in the nation, with over 6,000 members in 94 chapters around the state and elsewhere in the U.S. It publishes the OGS Quarterly, OGS Genealogy News, Ohio Records & Pioneer Families, and Ohio Civil War Genealogy Journal.
