2007 OGS Annual Conference Draws Near 10 Mar 2007--The OGS Annual Conference "Along the National Road: Your Avenue to the Past" is drawing near. It is a mere five weeks away! We are very excited about what is sure to be a marvelous event. We look forward to seeing all of you at the Hyatt Regency in Columbus 12-14 April. at: The program features 35 speakers presenting more than 50 sessions on topics ranging from early migration to DNA. Situated adjacent to the Columbus Convention Center, the Hyatt Regency is near the Short North, with its numerous shops and restaurants. Don't miss out on the North Market, an 1876 market featuring all sorts of wonderful food and artisan items. Also nearby is the Arena District, full of fun restaurants and nightspots. The opening session will be presented by Glenn Harper, a noted expert on the National Road. His lecture on the National Road's past, present, and future -- including its role in midwestern culture -- is sure to entertain and inform. Once again, OGS is partnering wtih the Ohio Historical Society to make the Ohio Death Certificates from 20 December 1908 to 1953 available at the conference.
